Wow, I've been living here for four months, and it seems the only thing that gets St. Louisians motivated is food.

For what it's worth - there is no decent Philly cheesesteak here. And Provel cheese is awful.

Sorry, but um, this isn't Philadelphia.

and come on, Provel has its own charm. Every once in a while I like a nice St. Louis style pizza. And my brother-in-law in Dallas absolutely loves the stuff. So much so that every time I get ready to visit, I make a point to go to Dierberg's and buy a bunch of provel to take to him in a cooler. It is quirky.

Wrong! Mamma Jamma's Philly cheesesteak really rocks!

Another one that you should try is Pam's Chicago Style Dogs & More:

Sorry you're not a provel fan. I'm totally into the stuff! But as you know, real Philly cheesesteaks aren't made with provel anyhow.

Carl's Deli is my favorite. I'm not sure I've ever had better.

From someone living in Chesterfield, land of the world largest strip mall and chain restaurants. I would hardly say in four months you can be any kind of authority on anything. Most of the good restaurants are in the city and inner burbs.

You eat cheez whiz, right? But you think provel is awful?

That I don't get. I mean if you eat gourmet cheese all the time I can see where provel would seem pretty low brow, but provel is a certain step up from something that comes in a jar.

When I am in STL I always hit up Penn Station. I like it. I like Imo's too. Something special about that crazy square pizza with the weird cheese. And I live in Chicago

I've had several of the ones mentioned, but my fave still is Adriana's.
