I recommend the Botanical Garden. It is beautiful and relaxing! The roses should be in full bloom - you can't get more romantic than roses!

In no particular order:
carriage ride along Laclede's Landing
winning lots of dough at casino boat
eating Italian on "The Hill" [which of course you are doing already ]
touring the Old Cathedral
walking hand in hand at Forest Park, and/or as CellarBelle mentioned MOBOT
Might also check out the Riverfront Times for any concerts/dancing that might be of interest to your tastes:
St. Louis - News
And, lastly,,, and consider the source here , maybe take her underground

Also, maybe this might be of interest too:

Let us know how it goes! Well,,, this is a PG-13 site - so not too many details.

If you are coming here and staying downtown I would for sure go to Lacledes Landing at night. You must hit the Big Bang for the dueling pianos and the guys that play at around 9 or later. Anyone who doesn't like this place doesn't know how to have fun. Next, if you're here after Aug. 2nd, I would take her across the river to the new Casino Queen opening that night. Even if you don't gamble. (I don't) If it's anything like Ameristar, which I think it will be, it will be a very fun place to be, eat, people watch and hear music. Not as much fun as the Landing, but worth going. One night be sure to go to walk and eat on Euclid in the Central West End. About a mile from end to end it's a great mix of shops and restaurants. Enjoy yourself wherever you go.

Go up in the Arch, visit the casinos on either the Mississippi or Missouri, visit the Central West End, St. Louis Zoo, maybe go to a show at The Muny...definitely visit Forest Park, the St. Louis Science Center, you could tour Anheuser Busch...there is literally tons of stuff to do here as a tourist....and we are only limiting this to St. Louis City. You could eat at someplace in The Hill, visit Downtown Clayton via the Metrolink, the Missouri Botanical Gardens....one place I'd recommend visiting is the Jones Confluence point of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers just a few miles to the north of downtown. You could also dine at the Lemp Mansion. There's just so many must-dos here it is crazy.

ajf... ummm,,, just a quick note, but he did say that they already done did the AB thing, and I believe the Arch too... and the restaurant that he has reserved, well, last time I checked, I believe it's still to be The Hill locale... While I do agree that the StL SciCenter is great, one of best I've seen btw, don't know how high it would rank in the romantic category [granted, I am a geekish engineer , but still... ]. BTW, that idea of the Lemp Mansion - , forgot all about that.

JDS,
Take a walk at night or evening down Washington Ave(restaurants, bars etc...nightlife)
Walking down to the Landing and Arch grounds for a stroll. Sundeckers is a bar where you can still sit out on patio at night with view and have a beer.
Charlie Gitto's on the Hill, not the downtown one, is a good choice. A drink in a neghborhood place there before or after dinner isn't a bad idea.
Central West End for more nightlife and walking around, always people out and about...and near Forest Park(good day spot) which has many things in it.
I'd personally skip the casinos, considering your interests and time. You can do that anywhere.
Before and or after Cardinal game would head to above mentioned Washington Ave, Landing, CWE or Soulard for nightlife. (You already did A-B tour, but there are many other places in that area for nightlife, i.e. outdoors at McGurk's etc...)

Yea, the Lemp Mansion is truly a haunted house if you are looking for one. I've never heard of so many suicides in one family...and in SUCCESSIVE generations as well. You may find more than a few psychics and mediums lurking around the Lemp Mansion, but don't let them scare you...the FOOD certainly isn't haunted...or is it????oooooooooooo....

Definitely have to go to botannical garden it is so romantic and beautiful, a fun place to go would be the city museum its right downtown or the zoo in forest park. Six flags is not too far but only if you like roller coasters or waterparks...the lemp mansion is fun and unforgetable. The mills mall in st. charles is about 10 min from downtown, a good place to go also. The Landing and Washington Ave is where all the good bars/clubs are.

Forest Park is amazing, the zoo, art museum, science center, and history museum are all great, for adults as well, and they're all Free . Seeing as I'm 17 with no income of my own, that's important to me haha. Also, I don't know how old you are, but the City Museum is so cool, it is a museum/playground (NOT just for little kids), and everything in there is made of recycled materials. It's really cool, and you wouldn't be the only adults there so don't worry about that. If you're into religion, or architecture, the New Cathedral on Lindell in Central West End is amazingly beautiful.
