I still don't know a heck of a lot about this issue, but people sure seem vehement about it one way or the other.

I haven't seen a thread about this here on the forum and I'm very interested to hear what you guys think about it.

I read this article this morning:

http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/political-fix/article_a4a53bea-611f-11e0-9735-001a4bcf6878.html

She sure isn't doing her side (or black politicians in general) any favors by spewing garbage like this. And sure I had a facebook status yesterday that said "Suck it, Rex," but I'm not sure I'd refer to him as a plantation owner ...

It's basically a non issue if you ask me. Chappelle-Nadal is basically making a red herring argument that has nothing to do with this issue. A city should control its own police department, end of story.

I'm pretty sure the Chappelle-Nadal, who is from U-City isn't asking for the state to take over the U-City Police dept. Can you say hypocrite?

I'm in agreement with this, and I've yet to see a compelling argument for keeping it under state control. I'm certainly open to hearing one, but all I've heard yet is that there is concern over pensions. Honestly I'm more concerned with the state running the pension plan anyway given the ruling party's political leanings.
