Hi there! My name's Sean! I'm 20 years old (I'll be 21 in 3 more days!) and I've got autism. I have a question about Bob Richards, the late, great weatherman at KSDK Channel 5 who sadly committed suicide in 1994 when I was 3 years old: when did Bob Richards do his last weather report at KSDK Channel 5? I think it was on the 10:00 PM news on Tuesday, March 22, 1994, since I think when he committed suicide by crashing his plane (since he was a licensed pilot also) around Midnight or 12:30 AM on Wednesday, March 23, 1994, because there's a KSDK news clip talking about Bob Richards' death and the poster said it was from Thursday, March 24, 1994, but I could be wrong. So I'm a little confused on when Bob Richards did his last weather report at KSDK Channel 5. If anybody could help me find out when Bob Richards did his last weather report at KSDK Channel 5 before he committed suicide (even though I was only 3 years old at that time since I do know it was in March of 1994), I would appreciate it!

Thanks!
Sean

Ok, I don't know the answer to your question but I've been around long enough to remember Richards. I remember when he and current news anchor Mike Bush were the two kooky, crazy and funny guys on Channel 5 kind of doing a bunch of funny ads and spots and stuff. It was sad when Roberts died, too young. It's also weird that Mike Bush hasn't aged.

You remember a weatherman who died when you were three years old? That's pretty crazy. I remember when Cindy Prestzler (sp?) started at Channel 5 in the late 90's. My whole family couldn't stand her and I still hear people bashing her all the time. She doesn't really bother me though, so I'm not sure what gives.

Richards was having an affair with a woman from Southeastern MO. He got caught, it went South and he took the cowards way out.

After a little bit of quick Google searching ...

CJR - High-Pressure System, by Phil Linsalata

This article, in the respected Columbia Journalism Review, states that he signed off for the last time Tuesday night, then drove straight to the airport.

I was 9 when he died and I definitely remember it. He had come by my school once. Sad stuff. Suicide sucks.

Kc just had a beloved meteorologist commit suicide as well.

yeh, he gave a talk at my step-dad's church when I was a kid. I remember talking to him about flying, i think he committed suicide shortly there after. Honestly, it was probably the same year, he seemed like a nice guy.
