Anybody know what is going on with The King and I (Thai) and Al Waha? They both seem to be empty/closed and undergoing construction. I hope they are just getting a face-life and reopen. I liked both of those joints.

I'm pretty sure Al Waha is closed for good. However, the King and I is news to me, and I'd be shocked if it closed. It was always really popular and one of the better Thai places in St. Louis.

What a bummer about Al Waha. I like their food, and I think I even had a Groupon for them. Though usually a restaurant offering a Groupon is about ready to go belly-up.

King and I is getting a long overdue renovation. Iraqi place is going into where Al Waha was.

From my experience that's definitely not true. Some of KC's best and most popular restaurants offer Groupons on a regular basis.
