Just turned on Channel 5 (local) and they report 102 degrees in St. Lou.

BTW, this is one KC/STL "competition" that I really wish KC would win!

That picture pretty much sums it up. Unbearable.

I never complain about the weather because I genuinely like 4 seasons, but this effing sucks.

I could do this 365 days a year and not suffer in the least. I mean that. Yes, I reckon I am in the minority.

However, it is becoming murder on the creeks! Last week we were at Big Creek and St. Francis at Sam Baker State Park, and I swear that half the kayak run was accompanied by dragging the boat across gravel. The water is running very, very low now.

Stay safe in the heat over the next week guys! It is going to be very brutal and the pattern doesn't look to significantly change for the rest of the Summer. It is a positive feedback loop and we now have a heat dome over the drought areas. Dry soil heats up faster and hotter temperatures are the end result.

I agree. The only thing that gets me through it though is I can still tolerate being outside. When it's brutally cold, I can't.

I don't ever remember my yard being this bad. My trees are even suffering.

I don't mind the heat too much, but I think 365 days a year I would suffer!

Even in this heat, though, I still go outside and enjoy myself. Just not quite as much.

Can anybody direct me to a site that has the average number of days of 100 degrees or above for various cities in the U.S.? If I remember right, the average for St. Louis is 2-3 days in a given summer. I used to live in St.Louis and I thought that was what I remember Dave Murray saying on one of his broadcasts. I now live in the Dallas area where the average is 16 days of 100 degrees or above. Just for the record, I will take the Texas sun anyday over 100-105 degrees with St. Louis humidity as it is now.
