Default weather

Hi I am a soon to be college grad and will need to move. I have been researching for a while for potential places and am considering st louis. one of the biggest considerations for my fiance and I is the weather. more importantly, winter weather. we are from NW florida, and are used to extremely hot summers and winter time lows in the 30's for a couple of days a winter. keep in mind that these winter days are still extremely humid and are bone chilling cold. I have been told this by vistors form colordo springs as well as my own experience. what is winter like in st louis? would you call it bone chilling cold?

I wouldn't call it bone chilling cold. St. Louis has 4 seasons in relative equal length. So winter is not very long, compared to say Chicago 4 hours North, but it does get cold in December, January and February. Sometimes it's better than others. Weather changes all the time, as it does in many Midwestern cities.

30's and and humid is cold, and some might even say very cold, but not bone chilling cold. St. Louis will definitely be bone chilling cold for you in January and February. But that is about it.

Most people who come to St. Louis have the roughest time with the July, August Sept weather of extreme temps and high humidity. We are talkin days of 90-100 degrees and 100% humidity. Late Spring and early summer are great, as is fall.

Smile I'm from NW FL too!

Hey! I'm originally from NW FL too. Where are you? I was raised in Pensacola. Now I'm down in Orlando (been here for 6 yrs). I moved here for school and fell in love with the place....but, now my new hubby and I have job opportunities that may be very hard to pass up in St. Louis. So, I've been asking all the same questions about the weather there and how is it adjusting. =)

Ditto for the most part. Except I'd say that there will only be periods of the bone chilling cold during the dead of winter. There will be times where it will be very very cold (compared to what you're used to). But then it might be pretty nice for a few days before it gets cold again. Pretty unpredictable. I think the weather is great except for summer.
