Default Upscale Urban areas in St. Louis?

Are there places in St. Louis like Lincoln Park in Chicago? Dense, urban areas with lots of shopping, stores, businesses and parks all within walkable distance?

thanks!

There are nice "walkable" areas, but none that are as dense or urban as Lincoln Park.

The Central West End is probably the best comparable area, though it has more mansions then high-rises. Other areas are the Delmar Loop area (heavy on the university students), downtown Clayton (though it be probably be a little dead at night for your tastes), a small section of Washington Avenue downtown around Tucker Avenue (just now developing, but turning upscale fast), and the South Grand/Morganford/Tower Grove Park area (still a little grungy or "edgy" right now).

Well, in my mind, the greatest thing about Lincoln Park is MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT in the world is there, and ONE'S OPENING HERE next month.

The Original Pancake House (The Original Pancake House). The one in Lincoln Park is at 2020 N. Lincoln Park West, in the basement of a high rise, if I remember right. I ate at one in Cincinnati twice this last week. Can't wait for ours to open. By the way, it's in the Chesterfield Valley where the Smokey Bones used to be.

Here's a pic (it'll have to do me for a month).

Sounds like you would enjoy Jefferson County, Missouri, or, as the locals call it, Jeffco.
