Saturday Nightlife in Saint Louis (St. Louis, Manchester: appointed, neighborhood, theater)

Hello everyone! My friend and I are going to be staying in St Louis next Saturday in the Westport area. I've never been to St Louis and my question is, what is fun to do on a Saturday night?

A little about us: We're both 23 and I'm a gay male, my friend is a straight female. We love to go out to bars/clubs, and eat at cool/hip restaurants. Anything that you can recommend for us to have a great time would be awesome!

I live near Westport and the first thing I want to say is don't go to Westport to go out. It's nice to walk around in the day, but you'll be disappointed with it as far as nightlife goes.

If you don't mind driving, I'd recommend for you to go down to the Central West End. I think you'd enjoy it. You would just take 270 SOUTH to 40 EAST and get off at Kingshighway (it will be about a 20 minute drive-past Forest Park.) Go left on Kingshighway and after you pass Barnes hospital you'll see a street called Lindell. Turn right and you'll be in the CWE. Once you come to Euclid you can go left or right to check out all the restaurants/bars. I'd recommend driving up and down Euclid first. Once you park you can walk from place to place.

First, Westport offers a cluster of walkable suburban bars and restaurants and also a comedy club w national bookings, called the Funny Bone.

Other nightlife areas are....U.City loop area......in the city, ....Central West End, Soulard, Washington Avenue downtown.

There are other neighborhood areas to also choose from.

See what types of events are going on that day and night in the area, at what types of venues, theater, music, sports, and so on....

The Riverfront Times is a good source for event listings...and has a website. Also search STLtoday.com........

A lot of it depends on your interests.

Try Novak's on Manchester. I haven't been there, but heard it was a good bar.
