Hi! My husband and I are interested in acquiring some rental property. We've had investment property in the past and my husband works in the finance/real estate industry. My background is marketing.

Because we are conservative with our investments, we would like to meet with some local real estate management companies before buying property. We'd like to have a good team in place before committing to a real estate purchase.

So -- does anyone have any recommendations for reputable property managers in the St. Louis area? Ones that would let us run potential properties by them first so we can gauge the soundness of a particular duplex, triplex or four-plex?

Thanks!

My sister rented her house and she has hired a real estate agent, who is quite reputable in the St. Louis area, and also does property management on a side. I think the way he works is that he charges you a fixed monthly fee for "managing the property" - which means take the complains/suggestions from the tenant and then finds the best quote from his contractors, gets your approval to pay for the job, and then gets it done. I think sister doesn't have too much of an issue so far and she is fairly happy with the service.

I discourage you from using West End, now Sentry.

Thanks! Property managers to avoid are good, too! We want good ones who will keep the tenants happy so they'll stay.

I don't know about what you want to do. But I find Banner Properties to be tops. I rent from them and management there is above and beyond excellent. They really take care of things. I believe Banner is a nation-wide chain. So, Googling should bring up something for you.
