Default Manchester Strip

What can people tell me about the "Manchester Strip"? During my last visit this is the area that surprised me the most. A lot of interesting stuff seems to be happening there.

It's an area I never would have guessed would take off, but it seems like it is.
Once again, it's formerly neglected status may have saved it from the wreckers' ball. Much of it's urban architecture and flavor remains in tact and is being reclaimed.

It's exciting. If I were to invest in a St. Louis district right now, I think it would either be downtown or the Manchester Strip.

Any info is much appreciated.

I have heard many good things concerning the efforts made to try and revitalize the "Manchester Strip" as you call it. I'm assuming that you're talking about the section between Kingshighway and Vandeventer. A lot of nice restaurants started up there but I have not heard that the 'boom' that they thought was going to happen, happened. In fact, I've been reading pretty much the opposite, but it's still something new in an area that is surrounded by some great areas with the Central West End just to it's north and the Hill area just to the south. Problem might be that there is very limited population around it at this time. Mainly wholesale businesses.

I'd invest downtown over that area to be sure.

Thanks for the replies. I only called it the Manchester Strip because that's what I heard it call while I was there. Hope that wasn't a big gaffe.

Maybe it will be a long slow build rather than a boom. Downtown is poppin'.
Manchester has a slower return but might pay off in the long run.

Cherokee Stree also seems like a spot rife for revitalization.
