yes i know that. But i believe i gave a pretty good example of a place to look at. Noone else mentioned anywhere in STL County (Wildwoods way too expensive) where you could actually get that sort of acreage and a home "near" $250,000. I am not saying buy the home for $299,000. But look more into that area and the OP might be able to find some acreage and a ranch home around the river for close to $250,000. It was just an example of 6 acres and a home, 25 minutes from downtown and only $50,000 out of the price range.

But anyways to the OP, give this part of "far north county" a chance and you could find what your looking for, maybe not but i suggest giving it a look. Or buy some acreage maybe an hour away, but that might be tough getting to downtown and back. good luck.
