Default Favorite restaurants/bars in SL?

I am going to be coming home to visit soon, and wanted to see if there are any great new places I should know about.
I like all kinds of cuisine, and also enjoy going to wine bars..... any suggestions?

Any particular areas of StL more interested than another? For example, CWE vs Laclede's Landing vs Westport vs The Hill?
In any case, here are a few suggestions for ones that I enjoyed:

Mike Duffy's Pub & Grill
124 West Jefferson #103
Kirkwood, MO 63122
(314) 821-2025

Kreis' Restaurant & Bar
535 S Lindbergh Blvd
St Louis, MO 63131
314-993-0735

Charlie Gitto's
5226 Shaw Ave
St Louis, MO 63110
314-772-8898

Maggie O'Brien's
2000 Market St
St Louis, MO 63103-2210
(314) 421-1388

I've not been to this place, but have heard positive reviews: http://www.eratowines.com/

I've eaten at a few restaurants in St. Louis. The BBQ restaurant on the second floor of Union Station has excellent toasted ravioli, and Shannon's had great lunch, although it's a bit more pricy.

Thanks for the great link! Love the Hill, Love downtown, ditto Central West End. I had heard that there was a really cool new winebar somewhere close to downtown that was a rooftop joint, will have to keep digging for that one.... also, that there were some really great restaurants out in Manchester??

Mention a type of cuisine and setting, i.e. urban or suburban, part of town, price range, etc....and narrow it down and I'd have some opinions for you. I really don't like Mike Duffy's myself(any of the locations, it's average to me at best). I find pub food to not be a St. Louis strong suit,(some other places do it better, and I like pub food) however, there are always some finds out there.

Try Sauce Magazine, Riverfront times, Stltoday.com.

Gitto's is good on the "Hill," for traditional old school, quiet, upscale Regional Italian.

Been to Gittos many times......
I would love to find a really good Indian restaurant, Korean, Thai, anything on the exotic side.
I know where most of the stalwart SL restaurants are, but not too sure about CWE, or Cherokee St, anything in the Lafayette Square area?
Thanks!

For the exotic foods, try South Grand.

Vietnamese: Pho Grand, Lemongrass, MeKong
Thai: King & I
Ethiopian: Meskerem
Persian: Natasha's Kabob International
Afghan: Sameem
Japanese: Sekisui

As for the pub food, try McConnell's on Kingshighway. The Tin Can on Morganford is also good for comfort food.

Glad to help. The wine bar someone mentioned earlier, Erato, is also on South Grand. The rooftop wine bar you were looking for is Vin de Set, by Lafayette Square. Both are good establishments.

For Indian food, House of India on Delmar (at I-170) just re-opened after a recent kitchen fire. Food was very good.

As for comfort food, try out Iron Barley on Virginia (& Bates, near I-55S). Best food we've had in STL. Very eclectic menu - BBQ pork, oak roasted beef, and schnitzel & spetzle (sp?), among others. Food has been nothing but excellent every time.
