St. Louis City schools are looking not very diverse at all.

The up and coming neighborhoods in the city are diverse as they should be but the classrooms are less so because of the demographics of the single urban professionals moving in. Suburbs are for families cities are for DINKS, Gays and Yuppies.

I think many people with money who moved into the city, ether don't have kids, or send there kids to catholic, private or charter schools, but in a few years if the city continues to attract well of young people it would slowly start to have an impact on the public schools. If I had to guess starting around 5 to 10 years is when we may start to notice the impact.

We're county dwellers, and my kid's pre-school (private) has 4 languages spoken. I was fairly impressed.
