I wrote this. I hope you like it:

I am not a St. Louisan. But I do love the city. The city has been through a lot in recent years. But seeing downtown buildings being restored and reused has warmed my heart. I mourn the buildings that could not be saved, but seeing the beautiful buildings being used again is very encouraging. There is still more to do, though.
Even the sports seem to have the theme rebirth, or should soon anyway. Hopefully, next year will be a rebirth for the Rams, who finished 2-14 this year. The Blues are already on the way up. After 2 years playoff-free hockey they appear to be on their way. The Cardinals are in a mode of change as well. The team is getting younger. The next year or two will be hard work, but hopefully eventually the rebirth will be complete. The Cardinals are doing much the same that the Blues are, but they’re a couple years behind. Not that I mind of course. Often a rebirth comes after a tremendous success, which was a major excitement (The World Series, of course).
This city is making itself respectable again. It’s mixing the old with the new. The old buildings are being restored, and some news ones are going up. Even new Busch Stadium is made to integrate different aspects of the city: The arched-window style of the Cupples warehouses, the redbrick similar to that of the Wainwright building, and the entrances to the stadium with Eads Bridge-like arches.
I am proud of this city. It’s picking itself back up and building anew. The old is shining again, and the new is fitting in pretty well. The city has made itself respectable again. And the average person can afford to live here, which is certainly a bonus for the citizens. Affordability and the beautiful scenery of the city will certainly bring more people in, which is always a good thing. There's more work to do, but it's a start.
I’m proud of my city, even though I don’t live there.
