Bellacino's is OK, but it's a chain. You can get that all over.

Another good option would be Talyana's. I haven't been in years, but remember it being quite good.

Yes, try Talayna's. Our family was there just a few weeks ago. The best!!!
Try: TalaynasOnline.com
Good luck and enjoy!!!

IMO'S of course! and Angelino's is good too, that is in St. Charles though. Another good one is is Serra's, it's off Mckelvey, and Creve Couer Mill Rd. I do believe, it's a full service resturaunt, so if you wanna sit down and relax this is the place! it's really good too!

And a definate yes to Talayna's - don't look like much, but lol, the service [a waiter that does his durndest to recall what a table of 8 people want on their varied pizzas, of different styles and sizes ] and the food are excellent!

My wife and I tried IMO's one time and hated it. I love pizza and we were starving, but 3/4 of the pizza ended up getting thrown away.
... but I would at least try it since it's the local flavor (I love checking out local restaurants). You might like it!

I can't figure this out either. I grew up with it and love it more than anything, but my SO, who grew up in KC, absolutely hates it.

Fortels, Black Thorn ,Vitos and Racanellis are the best "non STL style pizza" places.
Vitos offers a lunch buffet during the week, but on Sat they do not open until evening. Their dining is casual/dressy and they offer other menu items beside pizza. Very good pizza!
Racanellis has sit down/take out. The dining area is typical "pizza joint" like. Their pizza is NY style. It's darn good!!!
Black Thorn is a small pub but they have an area to sit. You can also try Lemmons on Gravois for the same style pizza as Black Thorn (I believe they are owned by the same people?) They offer different crusts, thin (which is more like normal) and thick, which is more like Chicago style/deep dish. The sauce ROCKS, you will not be disappointed!!!
Fortels has restaurants all around town (city/suburbs) and offers sit down area/family friendly. Their pizza is on the thinner side, but they use Mozzarella cheese.
Good atmosphere. Very casual, family owned/operated
It really is a love/hate relationship with the St. Louis/ Provel, thin crust pizza. I never liked but I didn't grow up in STL either. However, toasted ravioli ROCK and you must try some when you are here!!
Enjoy your visit! And let us know what you thought of the pizza you chose!!!

I remember as a kid ordering ravioli somewhere and being confused by what I saw on my plate- I never seen ravioli that wasn't toasted!
