Default Is Fenton a decent area?

I'm looking into a piece of property in Fenton, MO. I'm looking for some feedback regarding the city of Fenton.

Thanks to all who reply.

I've heard lots of good things about it. I'm not sure it's extremely exciting, but a nice city anyway.

Fenton is a great place to raise a family with great schools public and private. It's growing with new shopping in the Gravois Bluffs area. It's close to 44, 55, 270 etc so access is good.

A new hospitial is under construction, Fenton has lots of parks and trails and TREES!!, I think Fenton is great but keep in mind I have lived here for 20+ years. Let me know if you have specific questions and I will try to help.

I agree. Fenton is west of I-270 making it a safer community being that it's away from the urban core.

Again with the east and west of 270!! I've never heard such a ridiculous distinction in all my life!

Fenton and other "west of 270" areas are perfect if you like new construction and less density, but to say that it's somehow safer than Kirkwood b/c of what happened last night is crazy.

aragx6 is right again! Fenton is cool, except that my ex-wife lives there...but as long as you're not considering moving in with her, you should be cool! One of the things that I like about Fenton is that it's actually pretty centrally located in that you can be downtown in 20 -30 minutes or out in the country in the same length of time..

I lived in Fenton for 3 yrs! Its a Beautiful area! My Sister lives there as well, she moved there in 1994 and has never had a problem with Fenton! I think Fenton is really starting to grow up now with Gravios Bluffs there now and so many new stores! I dont know anything about School District because my kids arent school age yet but I have only heard good things about it! Best of Luck to you in finding new property!!!!

I have 3 friends that live in Fenton (all married with kids) and they seem to like it. With the recent flooding this spring, I would be careful to buy a property on higher ground that's not near the Meremac.

Oh Yeaaaa!!!!! My husband and I just moved out of Fenton in Feb. We had lived in a Mobile Home and bought a house in Lemay, we moved before we sold our Mobile Home, down towards where we lived at the bottom of Gravois Bluffs it was flooded because the Meramac River is right there...We are a lil further from the River though so it didnt get to our street but that would have been scary to live close to the Meramec River!
