Moving to eureka. Need info!
I am considering moving to The Legends Apartments in Eureka in May. I have driven thru there. It seems to be nice and peaceful. Does anybody have any information about the City or The Legends that I need to know. I am just doing my research before moving. Any kind of disputes in the city or problems with the apartments or landlords. Anybody let me know what you know. Wheather or not you think it is relavent. Thank you so Much,,,

^^ If by "in St. Louis" you meant "way outside St. Louis."

Hey bbgirl. A friend of mine lives in a home directly across hwy 109 from The Legends apartments. Eureka is a safe beautiful little town. Make sure you catch Phils Barbecue place for breakfast sometime. Also get you some of that Joe Boccardis italain food. You wont be disappointed. And if you like the outdoors route 66 park is the perfect place. located off Lewis road. Lewis is the exit just before eureka 109 if your traveling west on 44. Jp's is about the only bar in town if your ever feeling like live music in a small town bar.

Eureka is what...a 40 minute commute from downtown or Clayton? That's not THAT far out!

40 minutes, tops. It's really no further out than Chesterfield, just sort of removed from the rest of the county from all of that green space. (Rockwoods Res, Greensfelder, Route 66 SP, West Tyson County Park, Beaumont Scout Ranch and Wash U. Tyson Research Center, and Forest 44 Conservation area.) It all kinda blends together in those rugged foothills.
I had a silly dream the other night Wash U had all that Tyson land up for sale.... Weird

My parents are staying at the legends apartments while their house is being rebuilt. It was involved in a house fire. The apartments are very nice and they have been very happy there so far.

I can't believe Joe's is still in business! When I left Eureka at age 15 (1984) we just called it Joe's pizza. I went back about 5 years ago and was shocked at the change. I had a hard time finding my old house on Cerny, the intersection was completely changed. The fire house was a gallery, I think and Walmart was a flea market. A couple years before we left there was a big flood. We had to paddle our canoe down Augustine Road to the fire house to catch a ride for groceries. I went to Geggie Elementary, is it still in use? My kindergarten teacher lived near the railroad tracks. Her name was Anna Ammann, I think. Brings back memories!

Firebll, yes they still use Geggie.. My mom subs there!! I live in Augustine Heights as well!
Eureka is a great little town; i love living there! It really isn't as far from the city as people think, it seems further when you're driving in 44 because of all the green space, where as 40 is developed all the way from chesterfield into the city
