Bar To Bar Bicycle Ride?
Honestly don't know how a thread about comparing Denver to St. Louis got off onto a tangent about a group bicycle ride that would go from bar to bar, but it did!
Aragx6 pointed out a problem when she said that alcohol and bicycles can be a painful combination, but I thought that could be addressed by everybody wearing helmets, being careful with their consumption levels and by having a sag wagon (maybe a bus??) to follow along behind us for anybody who breaks down (either mechanically or mentally).
So, what do you folks think? When the weather gets warmer, would anybody be interested?

Cui
Actually, it may be illegal. In California, one can get a CUI (Cycling Under the Influence). You may want to Google that one for MO before putting effort. But maybe a rickshaw tour?

Wow Bissit, you're right! BUI is against the law in California! I couldn't find anything that said that it was against the law here in Missouri, but I would guess that if you were completely blotto and making a fool of yourself that they could arrest you for public drunkenness.
One way or the other, the sag wagon could work if somebody got too drunk!
So, what do you say...can I count you and Aragx6 in?

I'll be there in June! Driving from CA to STL with my mom and two daughters so I'll be in serious need of mind-alteration!

Aragx6......email me a weekend after 4/15/08 that you'll be in town and we'll make it that weekend...how's that for accommodating?
Fish....I read that blog and it sounds like she had a great time! I'm not so sure about doing it in the winter, but a spring ride sounds like a lot of fun!
Everybody else....come on....you know that you wantta! We could do Soulard or maybe the CWE...nice short rides....
Let me know!

I would say they could easily pick you up for public intoxication. I don't think people should be allowed to ride bikes drunk, especially on the streets (where I'm from people ride their bikes on sidewalks, but here, you'd probably get a ticket).

I doubt you'd get arrested unless you were very drunk- which I don't think anyone suggested we get
Bobster, I may well not be back in St. Louis until the holidays. I need to make a visit, but the SO isn't working right now, so money is tight! I am sorry; it sounds like a killer good time.
