Not photos, but some other info, sparse as it may be , here:

Ah, Holiday Hill Park! This was a smaller version of Forest Park Highlands. Just about 10 to 15 blocks from our home in St. Johns, MO. Used to take my oldest son there many times with his friends and my DH and I would go with friends to play miniature golf. Marvin Park grade school had their yearly picnics there also.
I do have a few pictures of the place w/son and his friends, and teachers. Fun place for all ages. It was just south of the the St. Louis airport.

You should be able to find a Gooey Cake recipe on line.
Sixty years ago my parents tried to take me to St. Louis in July to the zoo, etc.. Two years in a row, I had a horrific nosebleed. I stayed out of St.Louis in the summer ever since. Otherwise i always liked to stop at Steak 'N Shake on Old Halls Ferry Road north of I-70. .

the crackhead that begs for money at the 70/goodfellow ramp. we used to always crack the window like one inch and dangle 100s and 50 dollar bills then as soon as he began walking up we would speed off.. sounds cruel but prior to that he had harassed the hell out of us.. chasing my car blocks and blocks just because i'm a well put together white person that made him assume i am rich, when in reality most of my friends that stay around goodfellow got more money in their pocket than i do.
who could forget old busch stadium.. white castles.. vintage vinyl and the loop.. riverport.. mississippi nights.. the pageant.. <3

Concerts at the Arena. Listening to Ruth Hutchison and eating at Chuck-A-Burger. Those were the days.
I remember 905 and those beers. I also remember Sunset Hills swimming pool and going to "The Middle School" off of Lindbergh and along with KSHE I would listen to KADI.
