Default Moving to St.Louis

I'm hoping to move to St. Louis soon and was looking to rent a 2br 2ba in Soulard or Benton Park. I have a 16yr old daughter and was wondering if it was any good schools and safe areas to live with kids around that area. Also how much rent will I be looking at?

City Public schools aren't generally recommended, though the Soulard neighborhood itself is nice. It has some nice housing stock and (from my understanding) is generally safe.

But there are plenty of good private schools around.

Just some examples there.
