Check out: http://www.city-data.com/forum/st-lo...y-trips-2.html for one.

Another idea, taking enough supplies for vittles, drinks, fuel, and photos... and a good MO map Head west on i-44, and then bugger down 185 at Sullivan towards Richwoods, getting on 47 to Mud Town, get on 21 head to Potosi, and then 8 over to Steelville, bopping onto 19 south, towards Eminence; from there two options:
1. head east on 106, at Ellington head north on 21 to then take a ...
or
2. continue south, and then go east on 60, and then get back north via 21 and then take a ...,

... right/east on O which becomes K - then at Annapolis, head north on 49 to Glover, wandering back west on 21/72/49, going to Johnson Shut-Ins State Park. After leave there, head over to Arcadia, going north to Elephant Rocks on 21, to get to Caledonia, going east on 32 to Park Hills, then north on 67, taking either 21 or I-55 back to StL area...

Ya lost yet???

BTW, was more funner to do this kind of buggering about when petrol was not $4 a gallon...

I don't know about them, but I sure am.

I'm printing this post out, I sure hope you're not pulling our legs, because I love a good drive with the top down. I'll make sure I have plenty of vittles. Oh, my wife grew up in Des Arc and Annapolis.

lol - just don't think of it as being lost; just exploring new ways of getting to a destination. Anyhow, what's that saying,,, its not the end point but the journey to there that makes it worth while.

oh yea, if this was just a small group of people in a room, would have fun pulling some legs, but, alas, as this is a public forum where some humans take things waaaaaay too seriously, gotta be careful and be gooder. But, yea, during the hundreds of hours rummaging about those hills & hollers searching for this/that geological feature, there really is not too many uninteresting roads in the Ozarks, IMHO. And those in that area are some of my favourites - esp. the Arcadia valley region...

I'm moving to Lake St. Louis and will be working in St. Charles. Quite a departure from Las Vegas. I'm very excited about it!!

Photobuff, welcome to St Louis. There are definitely a lot of great things here in this city. But I will warn you...

1) Get ready for very different weather. I moved here from Phoenix and the frequency of changes in the weather and the humidity are sometimes crazy.

2) Lack of public transit. The MetroLink is great if you need to get to the Ballpark or the Airport. Otherwise, public transit kind of stinks.

Phoenix still doesn't even have one line running of it's light rail and it's a far larger city than St. Louis. People from glass cities...
