Commute between South City and O'Fallon
I'm still planning to move to STL, and I'm looking at the Tower Grove / South City area. I may have landed a job in O'Fallon. How crazy is this commute? Currently, I travel 30-40 minutes to get to work and it doesn't bother me too much. Anyone familiar with this commute? Thanks Guys!

The commute will be about 30-45, depending on the traffic around Highway 40 and I-270. Right now Highway 40 is closed over part of the commute, so that is going to add some additional time to detour on I-44 or I-70. I certainly wouldn't want to have that commute right now.
You might want to check out downtown St. Charles. There are some very charming historic homes around Main Street and Lindenwood College. The commute would be very manageable.

i would do it...
I used to drive from south OFallon (94 and 40) To U City... It took me exactly 30 minutes. This was before 40 closed of course.
I don't think it should be to bad.. you'll most likely be going against traffic if you work typical hours

If you're used to a long commute, I don't think this one will both you. It's long because it's far away, not because traffic will be too bad (though there will be an occasional snag)
I personally think you'll be fine. Main street St. Charles is a really cute area to be sure, and I'd absolutely recommend checking it out, but I'm not entirely sure it'd fit what you're looking for.

Just to clarify...You are talking Ofallon, MO, not O'Fallon, IL, right? One has an apostrophe (IL), and one, for some reason, doesn't usually have one (MO). O'Fallon, Illinois would be a little closer to Tower Grove too.

O'Fallon MO's official Web site has the apostrophe... I've never seen it without actually ?
But it's a good and legitimate question! I typically forget about the Illinois O'Fallon only because I lived closer to the MO one. So confusing!!!

I noticed that too. It's a darn shame they don't know how to spell their own name. I'm wasn't trying to start anything about how it's spelled, just that it would help to clarify them as they are each as much St. Louis as the other is.

Oh I'm sure you weren't trying to "start anything" lol
In the Chicago suburbs where I live there is a suburb called Downers Grove... no apostrophe. Apparently they used to have an apostrophe but dropped it some time ago, but I see it spelled both ways all the time and it drives me nuts!

I work out that way, the trip is awful. Bite the bullet and move closer to work.
