North County ALL bad? (Spanish Lake, Bellefontaine Neighbors: public school, area, Spanish)

I moved from Florissant (to the west of Riverview) over 20 years ago. My understanding of the Riverview area nowadays is that it isn't very good, especially the Riverview Gardens School District if you have any children.

It seems like if you stay west of Old Halls Ferry Road and generally north of 270 you'll do much better as far as being in a low-crime area is concerned. Others might add to this or correct me as the case may be.

I have lived in Northy county for some time now, and Flossiant, Dellwood, Ferguson, and Overland are GREAT areas. But areas like Castle Point, Jennings, Wellston, and Pawn Lawn are border line of the city and those areas are HARSH!!! No exaggration!!! the last four areas I mentioned are crowed with gangs, drugs, and shootings... Jennings school district isn't very good also.. Try and STAY away from those areas.

The Hazelwoods area is GOOD, certain parts of the Riverview area is GOOD, but watch out for the bad spots, but u should look into the University City area, a nice surburb to grow up in.

True there are some good areas around Riverview more specifically Bellfountaine but it's hit and miss. Same goes for Spanish Lake it's Nestled way back there but it has some very cool scenic spots

north county and north saint louis are two different places entirely..

North county is where the uneducated blacks and poor whites live. I would suggest not moving there because you'd have to add in the cost of private schools none of which are in the area, so you'd be driving all over the place. I think all of the better paying jobs would be far from there too. Doesn't seem worth it to me. Bunch of poor people and criminals. I won't even drive around up there.

I'm a young IT Network Engineer in my early 20's and clear over 50k a year. I know plenty of people in North County pushing at least close to 6 figures and are far from "uneducated". People like "sixtwobaldguy" are the type that annoy me the most, especially on City Data. They make broad assumptions about an entire area with nothing to back it up.

Ohhh nooo you can tell just by looking at this $1,000,000 house that there has to be riff-raff not to far behind, I mean it is located in North County:


I wouldn't dare let my kids even walk outside on the front in this area:


This house is valued at over 1 million also but you can tell that only the po' white folk would deal with living in this neighborhood:

a million dollars isn't that much for a house these days, and I wouldn't give u 100k for a house in hell county, ops, I mean north county lol yes if you leave in any direction there will be poor people & criminalsin every direction.NoCO is for people who can't afford the house they really want in West Co

I live in Spanish Lake right now and our neighbors are great but the schools here are horrible. My son is going to start going to N. County Christian this fall because we can't move yet but he will not go to the local public school. But I have heard some good things about Bellefontaine Neighbors area.
