I think InBev will show as much respect for tradition and history as A-B did when they bought the Rolling Rock brand. (That is, none.)

My husband works for a Budweiser distributor and this InBev deal has got us all worried. AB left themselves wide open by not voting back in their board of directors so that allows for a hostile takeover. The only chance the company has it to by the company that owns Modelo or Monster to put themselves out of InBev's price range. That is not likely to happen. From what I hear InBev has plenty of money to buy AB so it is merely a question of when. I want to move to St. Louis where my parents are but this buyout could change a lot of things about your beutiful town for the worst.

Sukiebn-I am in the same boat. My family is all in St. Louis and I really would like to be near them, yet St Louis is already struggling and the job market for me (white collar professional) has always been weak there. This would likely put St. Louis over the edge. They have got to get someone in office who will help turn the city around before it's too late (or is it already too late?).

For what the future could hold, look north to our Milwaukee neighbors...
STLtoday - Brewers flowing away from the 'Beer Capital of the World' (http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/business/stories.nsf/manufacturingtechnology/story/8FAD9D7661C4EC1C862574780009D67D?OpenDocument - broken link)

While I love what A-B does for the city and metro-area, and take much pride in them, I must admit that I don't drink the brew... my tastes are more in line with Coors [for mass-produced beer], and then Blue Moon, Leinenkugel, Bass , Labatt, Goose Island, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, etc...

Thumbs down InBev Takeover!

"This Bud's for EU?!" EEWWWWWW!!!!! http://bestsmileys.com/angry1/25.gif (broken link)

Not that I'm that much of a beer drinker, but I'll have to stick with Lagunitas while I'm still here in CA, and hopefully they sell Schlafly up in St. Joseph!
