Default Moving to O'Fallon

My boyfriend and I are moving to the O'Fallon area at the end of September when our lease is up here. We chose this area for college (St. Charles Community College), because my boyfriend would like to be closer to a future job opportunity, and because we were told it was cheaper than surrounding areas (St. Peters, St. Charles, etc.). I've been searching on the internet for apartments or one bedroom houses for rent, even though it's a little early because I feel like I need to be doing something to prepare now. I'm not finding any listings through any sites that are in our price range. We were hoping to find something for under 450 a month. It doesn't have to be a grand place, just some where for us to sleep at night. My question is this: Is this an unrealistic goal? Is there really nothing for this price or is there just nothing on the internet for this price? Any help offered would be wonderfully appreciated.

The problem with O'Fallon is there aren't a whole lot of rentals available.
I found this on Craigslist: 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom

I actually think you'll have better luck in St. Charles, because there are far more rentals available. I'd check out this place: Let's SAVE You Some BIG MONEY on your rent budget or this one: Cabana West Apts - 1 Bedroom in St. Charles

These both seem to be complexes, which is good for you, since few small properties will know yet what they'll have available come Sept.

Try the Triangle Appartments. Located off Jungs Station. Puts you about 10 to 15 minuts from SCCCC Depending on traffic. Its a low income appartment but its not section 8. Very nice place, safe lots of kids and a mix of elderly and folks in their late 20's to upper 30's. Very quiet. We have lived here for 4 years and are moving because we bought a house. Not sure what a 1 bed 1 bath goes for but we have a 2 bed 2 bath for 530/mo.
