Well I must say that this has been an exciting couple of weeks so far as a Blues fan. That come from behind victory against Chicago made my heart pump so hard. Next up is the evil empire of hockey aka Detroit.

Tough loss against the Dread Things,,, quite the exciting finish though! One lucky bounce there in the waning seconds, and we'd have yet another 'miracle' come from behind win/tie! Of course, maybe if they'd play w/ that much passion and energy the other 50 minutes, they'd not need to have these types of nail biting endings...
Looking forward to the game Friday night - taking pop, mum, and my youngest critter

Must say that the game Friday night was one of the most pitiful attempts I've ever seen these guys play... Falling down, crappy passes, unforced turnovers, etc... Saw Manny trip/fall when he came out of the gate, thought at the time that had to be bad omen, and hopefully not too painful, just embarrassing, but evidently its going to keep him out for a bit - here's hoping its short. Bishop didn't look too bad - good to see the StL native out there, but would have been better under happier conditions. Would like to know who the official was that removed his foot from the rug just as Manny was stepping down, and most importantly: why in hades didn't someone w/ half-ounce of a brain remove the durn carpet BEFORE any of the Blues were to step out there? Dumb oversight there... Anyhow, the Blues played like they were in a minor league game, not a NHL-caliber match - little intensity, just a few bright moments, and the inane passes... heck one went verrrrrry close to our own net, as the pass went cross the rink. Well, here is to Saturday's game, and the guys getting back on the winning track...

Congrats to the Blues for pulling together for a great game Saturday night - good to see the goofiness from the previous night change 180' to a much better performance, and a shut-out to boot. Now, here is hoping that Bishop [good work in his 1st NHL start] has a speedy recovery. Even w/ the Panthers playing 3rd game in 4 nights - away, home, and then away again - they put up a good fight. And Keith got back w/ another goal [plus assist].

Yes the game on Saturday was quite entertaining. We drove in on Friday night from Nashville and went to the game on Saturday. Ate plenty of Imo's Pizza and salad while there, went to six flags during the day and enjoyed a great blues game during the night. Saddest part of the weekend was driving back to Nashville on Sunday afternoon.

Shots on goal during the game vs. the 'Canes...
CAR: 29 [6+11+12]
STL: 19 [4+5+10]
Terrible offensive showing in the 1-0 loss against the 'Canes - yet give credit to the defense, on both sides. Still miss Brind'Amour. Good job on the PK tonight tho', allowing only 1 in 6 tries - but, that is way too many PK's that our guys had to survive. Seems that Coach Murray not so pleased w/ the team's performance either...

Another durn loss last night...
Onto other news, what are your thoughts about Shanny possibly coming back to StL?
The Fourth Period :: St. Louis Blues :: Blues interested in Shanahan
Bernie’s Extra Points » Blog Archive » Do Blues Need B. Shanahan?
What if Tkachuk would be traded [ , ] for a very strong D-man, one that could offer needed help on the blue line, and also make the PK even stronger? Would that be viable? With his production so far this year being very good, makes his trade value better - and, hate to say, in a pessimistic manner tho' how long this output would last? Really miss Big Al... Good article here on Keith [who, btw, is one of my youngest boy's most favourite player [Brad Boyes is his another], and will scalp me for even mentioning a possible trade of #7! ] STLtoday - This needs to be Tkachuk's season

No reason to trade Tkachuk, unless we plan on giving up now.
We may not need to Shanahan, but it would be interesting, and would probably sell some tickets. Oshie has a high ankle strain, by the way. Could be a few weeks.
With the way injuries are going, maybe getting Shanahan for insurance wouldn't be such a bad thing.
