Well, you could start by talking about what you like to do and what kind of group (or alone) you are visiting with....etc...

Well I am 25 - so there shouldn't be any underage-problems...

Well I am not a lot into clubbing all night long - I likle it once or twice but I am more into chilling stuff - like coffee-bars, going out with friends to nice places and stuff like that. I love meeting different people.
I will be on my own most of the time I guess because I am going to visit my hostfamily but of course I don't want them to babysit me) . So no group...

My opinion of what I would refuse to miss if I were taking someone through a tour of the city:
- Go up in the Gateway Arch to get the best view of the city.
- Experience the sea of red at a Cardinals game.
- The Art Museum & Zoo in Forest Park.
- Walking and dining Central West End and downtown Washington St.
- A group permitting, camping in Meramec state park with a float down the river.

Minus the camping trip, you can do all this via the Metrolink rail system.

Next month = no Cardinal Baseball.
But the Rams and Blues are in town, if you're into football or hockey.

St Louis Blues - Schedule
The official site of the St. Louis Rams - Schedule

You can catch the Blues Oct. 10, 16, 18, 22, 24, 25, and 30th.

Rams are fun, too, though maybe more expensive. I would catch a Blues game, but that may just be me. What days will you be in town?

This is the typical travel guide, but they might have some stuff you'd like to do:

If you have time check this out:

I've heard segways are fun, but I've never done it myself:

Have fun!

Thank you for your help
I just checked most of the links and I especially like the explorestlouis-one - there are a lot of things I like to do - I have never been to a Rams-game - it is football right (sorry for asking - I am from Germany so I don't really know all the names of the teams and what sports they are into)

I am going to be there from Oct 6th til the 28th - so I will have some time to do a couple things - do you know a good place for meeting people?? Age max. 32??

Well thanks again and have a good sunday...

This is a good list, but I'd lose the camping trip to see the actual city.

Along with walking and dining in the CWE, I would suggest you take a trip to the Delmar Loop in University City on a weekend day (or night, but more shopping options by day), walk up and down the loop, find a good place to eat, get some ice cream, check out the stores.

Check this site out for the U City Loop

list of bars and clubs for you.
On Washington Avenue:
Lure
(Only open friday and Saturday opened by a couple of guys from Vegas.)
Sugar Lounge
(only open friday and saturday...)
Rue 13
(its kinda quirky and different but its fun)

In the Central West end
Mandarin
(a really pretty bar on maryland plaza chinese theme lots of beautiful women!)
SOL Lounge
(super nice lounge with house djs, a little electro on Lindell *it's my family's bar so I'm definitely promoting it haha! )
Brennan's
Quaint wine and cigar bar upscale very relaxing (Maryland Plaza)
*None of these are Hip-Hop bars...if you're into hip hop you can go anywhere in town for that (Pepper Lounge, Upstairs Lounge are pretty diverse hip hop clubs) Lush I think is kind of lame...always filled with people with fake IDs and a bunch of posers.

On Lacledes Landing there's XES...part of Drunken Fish sushi lounge...theres always a party going on down there after 1:30 when most bars in st. louis close

Our foodie scene is around South St. Louis, the Central West End, and the Delmar loop, the hill
Coming from Germany you are bound to have good turkish, greek, and middle eastern food...if you're craving either go to Aya Sofia (turkish) or a deli called Al Tarboush off of the delmar loop. For greek I like Olympia
Most of our good asian places are on South Grand...such as Pho Grand (Vietnamese), Basil Spice (Thai), Sameem's (Afghan)

In the west end you have bar italia for italian their appetizers are exceptionally good.

There is a place i love for a good soccer match and some english brews, scottish brews etc...
The Scottish arms On Sarah Street in the Central West end...good haggis, lamb burgers and lots of beer and whiskey!

As for my personal favorite restaurants in town...if you want a really good pizza (chicago style deep dish) there is a little beat up old bar called the Black Thorn that has great Deep Dish Pizza...you'll probably wait half an hour for it but it's worth the wait! you can drink beer while you wait. My favorite Chinese place is Wei Hong...I lived in China a while and it tastes just like Beijing...They have great Dim Sum on Sunday mornings...I don't know if you have much choice for Mexican food in Germany but if you're in the States you have to have some!...my favorite sit down mexican place is Garduno's...its in a mexican neighborhood many st. louisans dont know about it yet...get it while its good!
For a good burger every St. Louisan will tell you Blueberry Hill...their quality has done down the drain...go to O'Connel's Pub...Lastly I loooove tapas! There's a place on the Hill Called Guido's...its half italian and half Spanish but owned by Spaniards so I would really only recommend the Spanish food...you will see lots of sports memoribilia for Spanish soccer teams by the bar.

Stay away from horrible sub quality american chain restaurants which St. Louis has a lot of!
Try to stay away from tourist guides that tell you which restaurants and bars to go to...theyre always full of tourists and not a way to really experience the city and the places they tell you to go were paid for...ask some locals in the urban areas

A Very St. Louis thing to do (Industry people...insomniacs and people who party way too much) is when all the bars are done on the missouri side of St. Louis at 2:45 am...they head over to the East side across the river...I can only recommend one place on the East side and thats penthouse...most of the people are there just to have after hours drinks and its always really packed...the crowd is mixed, not just men...not a run down dirty strip club like the rest of them are...Its the only one I can honestly say that the girls take care of themselves and frankly dont smell. It gets gross at some of those places. It is a strip joint but its a little more "upscale" if you want to call it that and a great place to have some beers after 3...for the people who really go all out and stay up alll night they head back to Lure on Washington Ave. which re-opens at 6:30am for more drinks and breakfast lol!

If you look at any best of list they will list papa john's or dominoe's as best pizza and some tex mex chain as best mexican...dont listen to it!
www.saucemagazine.com
any of the restaurants I typed here you can find more info on at this site as well as some of the clubs

I can relate to you where I hate when I travel out of the country, the first place a taxi or someone will take me is an over the top touristy place...I say no! Take me where you eat! I want to experience the city like the locals do...So I think this is the list you were looking for!
