Mike Duffy's on Clayton is listed (btwn Big Bend and Skinker). That's barely outside of the city limits.
Does Duffy's get the NFL Ticket? I was in Stl recently and laughed when I heard the radio ads for Duffy's (3 locations). They were promoting themselves as a sports bar. Yet, they do not buck up and pay for sports packages. I know the Kirkwood one in particular has had plenty of opportunity for increased regular business for college sports fans' alumni programs seeking the football and hoops packages and they cry its too expensive. Then don't promote your new flat screen tv's and your bar itself as a sports bar. If you want to be a sports bar, you need to be able to get MLB packages, NBA, NFL, college football, hoops, etc...

Duffy's isn't the only offender either in this false advertising.

Would still be nice to have something closer, and bar not a restaurant like Mike Duffy's. Thanks for the suggestion though. As you drive in to the city for the games, you can probably understand why I want to stay in the city for the games.

Default Sacrifice

I made a sacrifice to live in the city, for the convenience it provides with shopping, events, landmarks, parks, dining, and drinking. Why on earth should I have to drive half an hour to some forsaken concrete strip mall where the only other stores are "Jimmy's Hot Wings" and t-mobile to get to a decent sports bar? You go to any city in the country -- Raleigh, Vegas, Baltimore, Phoenix -- and you get a walkable urban area with actual people hanging out, watching sports. Why can't StL do the same?

In the city go to Flannery's on Washington Ave, or Skybox on the Landing to get quality sports packages.

The NFL ticket is something many pseudo sports bars get as opposed to the other sports packages so your possibilities increase a bit in the city. There are plenty of places in the City that get the NFL ticket and will put on the Steelers for you. You may not get sound. Tom's Bar and Grill in CWE I believe gets it. Some Tower Grove South Bars on Morgan Ford should as well. There are plenty of places.

Sports Zone in Shrewsbury would likely give you sound. They get all sports packages.

... and the thread has come full circle. This is why I started the thread in the first place. Because you don't have a bar in town that caters to Steelers fans. I have been to many other cities in which you have your choice of Steelers Bars. I want to start one here. If you are interested, please contact me. We are getting closer. Recruiting more fans every day. Hooray!
