You can easily tell San Diego from LA (LA is a filthy dump that is would hard to recognize, except for the fact that its on TV much. When there is snow on the Mountains, LA can easily be confused for Denver. The Hollywood sign tends to get lost in the clutter. Its not that easy to see unless you are almost right on top of it.

San Diego is a clean vibrant city with its own personality. Most people easily recognize San Diego because of the hills, the harbor and the Naval bases. San Diego also has some real interesting architecture. Same with Seattle or Pittsburgh. San Francisco has numerous landmarks that if one was removed, it would still be recognized as San Francisco. The boulevards, Arch and architecture make PAris stand out. It really doesn't need the Eiffel Tower.

Brussels and Amsterdam look similar enough where they often get confused and neither city has a real landmark (Brussels has that Atomium but that is on the outskirts of the city.

OK screw Paducah. I was merely using it to make a point that nobody got. But even Indianapolis has a more impressive skyline than St. Louis. It has a better balance and symmetry than many midwestern cities.

St.Louis's skyline is amazing, its just when viewed from the illinois ther are 3 of it tallest buildings you cant see , and saying' "Without the arch", is stupid, it does though, would you know its paris without the eifel tower, or seatle without the space needle, or toronto without the cn tower or, or london without big ben.

I actually prefer the skyling views from the north and south. For out size, we have a rather small skyline. Some of that has to do with the neighboring Clayton CBD. There is so muc more to a city than a pretty skyline.
