Default Tell me about Holly Hills

Can anyone give me the low-down on Holly Hills area? The pictures I've managed to find of the area seem great, but how far away is it from the restaurants, entertainment, etc...? Is it too much of "suburbia?"

Also, what neighborhood is Euclid/Washington Ave area?

Holly Hills is a city neighborhood in South St. Louis. It's a relatively quiet, safe area with mostly brick homes built in the 30's. The neighborhood surrounds Carondolet Park, which has a bike path, playgroud, and several fishing ponds and fountains. There's a newer shopping center southeast of the neighborhood with a grocery store, lowes and a few restaurants, and it borders Interstate 55. If you consider it "suburbia" would depend on what you mean. It's in the city limits, but it's mostly residential, so if you're looking for flashy nightlife, you'd have to go somewhere else!

Euclid and Washington are in two separate places...Euclid is in the Central West End (CWE) and Washington Ave. is downtown. Maybe someone who lives there can give you more insight. HTH!
