Say hello to Vancouver and (I assume) Portland.

I am really hoping you guys get a team. It would create a rival for us and an instant annual road trip for fans of both teams. I know I would be at every single game the Wizards played in St. Louis.

Well, not so good news today in terms of expansion to St. Louis:
Announcement today to announce the Vancouver Whitecaps as the 17th team in MLS:

Announcement expected tomorrow announcing Portland Timbers as the 18th team in MLS:

You either need to hope for a relocation or you will have to settle for a USL team.

Bleh. MLS has no intentions of bringing a team here.
I'm getting tired of this headache.
And the second link doesn't work.

Again, Garber has said many times that he wants a team in St. Louis. But, that ownership group has been very unstable. They have money, then they dont, they have stadium plans, then they dont. It has been back and forth many times. When you are a business, you grant franchises to the most stable bids. Vancouver and Portland were those bids.
The good news is that Garber announced today that they will be adding two new teams in 2012 too. He also said that Ottawa and St. Louis would be frontrunners.
The problem is that this gives more time for NYC2 and the Las Vegas group to get their stuff together.

There's been a little more to it than that. I have more information, but it isn't a St. Louis had the weakest ownership group so...
That'd be underinformed.
