Grand Avenue Theaters
Hi, I've been trying to think of all of the movie theaters that were on Grand Avenue during the 40's and the 50's. This is for a scrap book that I am putting together. These are the ones that I remember:
The Fox, Missouri, St. Louis, Schubert, Loew's, was it the Orpheum??? I am sure that there were more. Does anyone remember??? Thank you.

I think Powell Hall came after that era...maybe in the 60's or 70's.
What about the American ???
I asked my Mom, she grew up in that era.

Actually, Powell Hall opened in 1925 and presented both vaudeville and motion pictures. The Hall was renovated in the 1960s when the symphony moved in.

Thank you. I didn't know that. I will tell my Mom, she's soon to be 86 years old.
