Default St. Louis Brick Rustling/Copper Stripping

It seems this happens all the time (from what I've heard). Have you ever seen it in progress and if you call the cops will they do anything about it? Just curious. Any brick rustling or copper stripping stories would be interesting to hear.

Thanks.

This may help, but it's one step of many that need to be taken.

I'm sure many more don't get caught, though.

Not much brick in Florida, but construction sites have copper stolen from them on what seems to be a daily basis in the news.. both pipes and wires have copper, so that's the primary thefts from construction.

Copper is stolen just about everywhere on a daily basis, it happens at construction sites here in Texas here. In my hometown in Missouri, someone (a girl I went to high school with ) went to one of the grocery stores and cut a bunch of copper off the back of one of the large outdoor freezers to sell for scrap.

Scrap prices for everything have been very high for awhile now. The last time I sold scrap, in 2001/2002, it was $10 per ton for steel/iron. Now it is around $200. Copper and aluminum fetch much higher prices.
