SCB123 is on a distinguished road
Every woman in a hospital setting has the legal right to refuse medical intervention while giving birth. Nothing is forced on women.

Doctors do not view pregnancy or birth as something that needs "fixing". Pregnancy and birth are viewed as a condition that is too monitored to insure safety for the mother and baby.

No midwife is, nor ever will be more qualified than a doctor to care for pregnant women. CPM's do not have a medical degree, they don't even have a nursing degree.

Well, on FM 97.1 or .3 there is a conservative radio station, and a Dr. Randy Tobler (sp?) hosts a show on the weekend (or at least did until recently, I haven't listened the past several months) and he espouses very conservative and very pro-life views.

Can't vouch for his doctoring skills though-you might want to check that out on your own.

I lived in St. Louis for three years and Dr. Gregory Jewell was my doctor for three pregnancies. He's wonderful, pro-life, and all of the doctors in his office are quality.

I have lived in St. Louis for 30 years. Both of my pregnancies/deliveries were handled by Robert Blaskiewicz, who has an excellent reputation and is pro-life. Phone number 314-781-7455, address 1031 Bellevue Ave., Suite 410. I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Duhart passed away. Does anyone know of another doctor/ob that will oversee a home birth in St Louis?

There are no others that I am aware of right now. Plenty of midwives, however.

Though I am working with two midwives (who are amazing and incredibly well trained!!!) Many of my friends have worked with Dr. Dixon. He is definitely ProLife and has assisted hundreds and hundreds of birth. Both he and his partner have received kudos from many people I know.

Dr. Michael Dixon works out of St. Anthony's in South County.. he is one of my good friend's dads. He's Catholic, father of 6, wonderful guy. His practice is strictly pro-life. He is the OB for tons of very conservative Catholic moms that I know and they all love him.
Also, my mom's own OB, Dr. David Gearhart is wonderful. He has like ten kids or something like that, and is pro-life (hence the ten kids?) He delivered me!! His office is in West County, on Ballas Road just south of Olive.
I highly recommend both of these doctors! Good luck with your pregnancy!!

I know I'm getting in on this late, but wanted to add a few things....

SCB123, there are numerous doctors in st. louis that are not pro-life...yes, even ob's! There are many doctors in st. louis that perform abortions and even refer moms to abortion providers. I've interviewed several myself.

There are midwives in the area; some are pro-life, some are not. Just bc a doctor attends births at a catholic hospital, it does not mean they are prolife. THey can still perform abortions in their private office. And even if a doctor doesn't do abortions, doesn't mean that he/she is prolife. They may think it is fine for anyone else to do them.

It is best to ask everyone for yourself.
