Does anyone know of a good neighborhood map/site?
Hello,
I'm looking for a good map or graphic that shows St Louis neighboorhoods in relation to each other. I've seen St. Louis Neighborhoods: Map, but IMO it's confusing. Does anyone know of a good online neighborhood identifier for St Louis?
Also, I may move to St Louis to work in the Union Station/Post Office area (is this Central West End or downtown?). I'm looking for a place where I can rent a house (not apt) with a fairly easy commute. Ideally with garage/off street parking. I like older homes with character, like a little bungalow with hardwood floors. A yard would be great. I do not have kids so I don't care about school district. I do have cats. Any input on neighboorhood is appreciated. I want it to be as safe and quiet as possible. I don't need bars and nightlife.
Thank you in advance.
Myra

Myra, actually, I would use Yahoo maps. Yahoo has neighborhood designations on the maps. Union Station is downtown.

Not so much of an identifier, but here is another informative site: Neighborhoods - St. Louis, Missouri
Actually, to me, that one that you don't like much is one of my favourites
BTW, can buy a map like this too: Welcome To BigStick, Inc. - St. Louis Neighborhood Map - Larger View of Map, so can access it even when the 'net is down

If you use the above suggested links and have more of an idea of where you'd like to be, I'm sure locals on here can give you specific directions/boundaries to the different neighborhoods.

St. Louis Hills, Holly Hills, Dogtown, Tower Grove South would be good city neighborhoods to look at.

If you are looking in the City, the City of St. Louis has a neighborhood map with links to descriptions of the neighborhood as well as the neighborhood associations. ...mod cut: advertising removed...
