Moving out of St Charles and into the City may be the change you need. You may want to try that before going elsewhere.

Brickmama, I dont think that would be the answer for me. Hailing for Los Angeles, I just think my options of doing things are more plentiful there. A trip to the beach, a trip to the mountains. Vegas 4 hr drive. San Diego 2hr drive, San Francisco, Yosemite. For the lack of better words I feel kind of land locked, trapped a bit.

Phoenix (well, the east valley/tempe) is the coolest looking place to me. I love the stucco/desert/everything-is-light-brown-or-copper feel . I could live there in a heartbeat.

Please dont think I am trying to be a troll, but if you did your research, why did you move to the Lou?
It aint Cali, but if you look about you, you will find many things worth doing.
A world class art museum and zoo, and botanical garden, not to mention Forest Park
Beautiful lakes and state parks within a short drive
Wonderful restaurants, clubs shops, etc
Lots of really old buildings, not a bunch of cookie cutter
Perhaps if you looked at it from another perspective, and didnt try to compare it to Cali? Just take it for what it is?
I would change places with you in a heartbeat, and I am 45 minutes away from the beach.

Yeah I guess it is hard to understand where you are coming from since I am not much of a beach or mountains guy.

Also forgot to mention that I find Vegas extremely overrated.

Well, if he misses Cali, then he misses Cali, and there's little remedy for that. I would agree, though, that Saint Louis has plenty to do, and I would gladly take it over my current environs (no offense, OKC, but you're not my cup of tea).
What I don't like about Saint Louis: the freeway system that has brutally carved up the town. Whoever designed it had no love for the city.

They did it in the name of "urban renewal", whatever that means..... some of those neighborhoods will never recover.

Living in St. L all our lives, then moving to CA. (DO WE EVER MISS SAN DIEGO) then HAVING to move back due to parents health issues. Now were the ones that have the health issues & can't move back.
We never ran out of things to do in St. L or San Diego or LA or San Francisco.
I believe that most people just aren't satisfied, they always want more (in a greedy way).
How many people do you know that are content...not very many. I'm glad we are.
WE WILL ALWAYS MISS SAN DIEGO... WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE.
