Thanks to you all, I liked the advice about the "live city update" GPS available and will enquire about those. I have managed to go to most places I wanted by doing what you suggested with some main avenue, like the Page one and Manchester. They have been very practical in fact and it is true that I would not have found those other roads if I had not been forced to...this said I like taking the car and get lost, but only if I can find my way back home at anytime of day or night with no problem and this is what the GPS allows me, driving stress free. So, although it is possible to do without, I am feeling much better with one, and one that updates at least weekly if not daily. However, in the mean time I will certainly follow your suggestions. I'll probably buy a new GPS too that does its work properly. Thanks to you all.
