Question Homeschool-Missouri or Illinois better?

Hi,
We'll be moving to the area soon and I've been asking about housing on another thread, but thought I'd throw this one out there. We're homeschooling our 11-yr-old son this year in England (we're US citizens) and we're thinking we might continue. With my husband's job location (near the main airport), it looks like we could live on either side of the border.

I've looked up the homeschooling laws for both MO and IL, but I'm wondering if there are any homeschoolers out there with experience that could tell me if one state is more "homeschool friendly" than the other? Which would have the better support, resources, freedom, other homeschoolers, etc.?

(I have read about some of the other issues--lower housing costs but higher prop. taxes and gas in Illinois, so we'll weigh those factors in as well.)
Thanks loads!
