Take a field - for example a football field, make matrix of desired squares of agreed upon size, like 2'x2'. Number each individual square, but in a random pattern, not in order. Sell tickets that contain these numbers, which people buy based on desired/favourite number or randomly. Different variations. After all tix are sold, put the cow [or other animal of choice/availability] onto the field, let 'em do his/her business, and the square that contains the most [size and weight],,, ummmm, moist patty is the 'winner'. If don't have a cow or other critter, or don't want to mess w/ the mess, make the field, but toss frisbee - not as exciting of course
