No, I believe you'd have to pay Clayton or Ladue's out of district fees.

Aragx6 you are the winner! I just checked the site. It appears that the UCity schools aren't too bad and a vast improvement to the Calif. schools. They also seem to be safer that the SLPS district. I really love the cost of living in UCity coupled with the diversity. Can't wait to check out these schools. If anyone can give some first-person accounts of the middle/elementary in UCity, aside from the posting about Jackson Park, I think the OP and myself would be grateful.

Wow, I really didn't know that. I thought and assumed ALL public schools were free, but I guess not.

They are, if you live in, and therefore pay taxes to, that school district.

You know, City-Data has a webpage devoted to Missouri public schools profiles http://www.city-data.com/schools-dirs/schools-MO.html. It appears that most of the data and statistics about the schools are pretty accurate, so if you haven't already tried this I think it could help.

clayton schools are not "free" -- unless
you live in clayton. if you don't , you CAN still go there by paying tuition (assuming of course you are accepted). for more information:

Absolutely not. The St Louis city schools wouldn't be a problem if that were the case.
