What's the most family friendly town in IL near St. Louis?

My job will be transferring to Edwardsville, IL., on Vandalia Ave. I'm a single mother of two teenage girls. Not able to buy a home, looking for rental property & good schools Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Define Family Friendly? What is it your family wants to be able to do ?

What sort of community functions do you with to participate in?

I think you have to be more specific on what you are looking for ......... one 300$ home and another area might be a dump ... just depends

I live in Illinois (have property for sale as well <<<WINK>>)
Depending what way you travel and to what part .. travel time varies .. est. 1 hour ....... we have church functions ... dinners at different churches that everyone goes to ........... ice cream socials etc......... we don't have a big Theater or anything that say has musicals .. most of that I go to Mo. for. (Fox Theater is awesome)

Another thing is how crowded and how much in the crowd do you wish to be?

Edwardsville is a little high dollar area.. you might try the surrounding areas ... stay clear of East Alton, Alton , Anywhere near the refineries ..

Woodriver has some nice areas ... Roxana as well... but again the closer to the refinery the worse smell of rotten will get to ya. Bethalto has a nice smaller size school .. and again there are fancy subdivisions and such ..but there are nice apartments there ... If ya need more info pm me .. I use to live close to these areas.
