Destonomos is on a distinguished road
Default Moving to the saint louis area.

I just got a job on the delmar loop and I will be graduating college on May the 10th. I've been looking online and all the apartment complexes that allow dogs and are super cheap seem to be bad places to live in due to crime and the people that live there.

Is there any places that is under an hour from the delmar loop and is in the 350 to 450 dollar range that allows dogs and is in a non-shady area?

PLEASE HELP!
Thanks in advance.

Why not try to share with someone in University City? Then you're very close to the loop. Plus, you'll be in a nice area for someone your age.

You are not going to find anything under $450 a month that is considered a decent place to live. You are going have to start your search a little bit higher, say around $600 unless you want a roomate to keep your expenses low. Good Luck.

I do agree that you would find a lot more options in your price range if you upped it up a bit. However, there are available apartments in places that are decent in your price range, but they won't be fancy.

Are you only looking apartment complexes? That will kind of limit your options.

The ones that come to mind are:
Hampton Gardens in South City
Hampton Gardens

Cedar Creek Lodge in Bayless
St Louis, MO Apartments - Nolan Cedar Creek Lodge -

South West Crossings in South City
Saint Louis, MO Apartments - Nolan Southwest Crossing Apartments -

These are located in safe areas.

If you are really considering areas "under an hour" away from the Delmar Loop you should be able to find places in your price range further out, either further into the city in an older, less desirable rental (but still safe, of course), or further south (Maplewood/Affton) or further Northwest (older, cheaper areas of St. Ann/Maryland Heights). In these older neighborhoods, you may be able to find some smaller, older rentals nestled among newer, rehabbed rentals that would fetch a lower price. Also realize that most rental prices are not carved in stone so you may try bargaining down vacant units originally priced at $475-500/mo or so.

I totally looked over the "under an hour" part of the OP -- At that distance you could probably find something small and older in St. Charles which is very safe. Like this: 1 br First Month FREE!!
