Default Special Education in St Louis City Schools

Hello,

We have a young child with developmental disabilities, similar to down syndrome, and he is now of kindergarten age. He will be turning 5 soon, so he is of kindergarten age- and we are looking for an appropriate kindergarten for him.. We live in St Louis City.. we have been accepted into a magnet school, but we are still unsure whether to send him or not... or to try and find a private school, which is appropriate for a kid with developmental disabilities. We have heard good and bad stories about SLPS.. any personal experiences or advice, we would dearly appreciate it.

Thank You, Michael

stevio63 will become famous soon enough
similar to downs syndrome?? has your kid been tested by stl public schools?? most districts do a pre/k "readiness" test...did this happen??

i am familiar with Special School District that operates in the county and they do a pretty good job all around....i do have a bias though but city education is "spotty" at best and if i had a kid needing "special ed" it would not be in the city i would be looking
