What? Are you ****ing kidding me? Except for Salt Lake City, this is truly the bottom of the barrel! Is this a joke? Yes, I think my birthplace of St. Louis is superior to all of those ghettos except for Salt Lake City, Kansas City and Anchorage. I voted and I hope it helps STL get to the "second tier."

By far the most annoying person on the STL forums, why do you even care? All you do is talk about how much of a dump STL is compared to Phoenix and try to give negative advice when you don't even live here any more. Have you been to all of those cities listed or are you just assuming those places are all "ghettos" based on he say she say?

Oh I thought those were the cities in the running for America's Favorite for a second - which had me shocked. Then I realized that those are all cities that were left off the "America's Favorite" list ... and that the vote is for which of these should be addded to the bottom of the America's Favorite list. Makes alot more sense.
If I had to pick 5 ...
1) Saint Louis
2) Salt lake City
I honestly cannot make myself vote for any of the others. I guess KC, Baltimore, and Cleveland? I hate Houston and Memphis is a dump.

everything listed on this page is not what I would have listed for the top 5. Mine would not have St. Louis on it and Missouri would not be my top 5 either. I might have to live here for a while and be in the country. Anything better than ST.L.

Salt Lake? Meh...amazing skiing and other outdoor activities, but the city itself is bland and soulless. I stayed downtown for a few days earlier this year...even on Friday and Saturday nights, downtown was absolutely empty of people after dark. Food was so-so at best too. The city seemed nice and clean, the people were friendly enough, but it completely lacked character and any sort of vibrancy. St. Louis, KC, and even Houston are far more interesting...although that Utah snow is really, really awesome for skiing.

By far the most illiterate person on the STL forum. Did you actually read what I said? No, STL is NOT better than SLC, KC and Anchorage (yes, I've been to all of those cities), but it most certainly IS better than the other ones (and I've been to all except Providence, but you know what has been said about 9/10th). What that means is that I have a FAVORABLE perception of my birthplace, not a negative one.
And advising someone moving to STL from Manhattan (the bourough of New York City, not the town in Kansas) that the Central West End may be a better choice than Tower Grove is NOT a negative opinion, just an opinion.
Read more carefully prior to spewing the proverbial venom. Peace, chuckles!

Dude, you couldn't be more wrong. I lived in STL for 33 years, and I've been to Detroit/Houston/Baltimore/Cleveland/Memphis, and they are WAY worse than STL. Other cities that I've been to that are worse than STL:
Los Angeles (absolutely void of any intelligent life)
Miami
Washington D.C. (homeless people sleeping on benches across the street from the White House)
Newark
Cincinnati
Omaha (NOTHING to do there but eat and go to the mall, hence all the fatties!)
STL has its issues, and I feel for it, but there are MANY places worse off.

So you think Anchorage, KC, and SLC are better than STL? Are you sure you have a favorable perception of your birthplace? Oh wait you live in Phoenix. Enough said!!!

In my opinion, none of those qualify, but I guess I would choose St. Louis or Kansas City. Cleveland and Detroit have very little positives about them right now. I find both places (latter of course) downright depressing. Always glad to be back home after visiting my relatives in Cleveland. I am not a big fan of Ohio in general. And STL4Eva is right to a degree at least, I don't care for the rude comments about those cities...but he is right that St. Louis is better off than any of those cities. I would choose St. Louis over any of the other cities on this list. I would not care to live in any of the others on the list except maybe Washington, D.C.
