Well, there is actually a new restaurant right there in City Garden. It's called The Terrace View Cafe. I haven't tried it so no reviews to report yet but it has a cute little deck that overlooks the park that would be really nice..unless it's 100 degrees On Wash Ave there is Mosaic, Kitchen K, The Dubliner. Of course if you are willing to drive out of downtown there are a TON of awesome places to eat. Here's a link to another thread that people posted about their favorite STL restaurants:

Also, the explore Saint Louis site is pretty good:

I haven't been down there yet myself, but based on the pictures I've seen I think it looks really nice. Glad to see the city doing something with that space. I'll have to check out that cafe, I love open air dining.

I read last week that they were hoping to have it open by Tuesday, but that's last I heard.

City Garden - Gateway Foundation's Newest and Largest Public Art Project
Here is a link to some of the photos: Real Estate Blog - CityGarden - New Urban Sculpture Garden Makes its Debut in Downtown St. Louis. Also, if you are a fan of public art, take a look at the Gateway Foundation's website which, in addition to City Garden, shows some of their other public art and lighting projects.
