Eyeam, I couldn't disagree more about the city and suburb comparison. As someone who spent most of their life in the county, I recently moved to the city and have barely been back since. The city has pretty much all of our areas top attractions, the best restaurants, the best nightlife, the best parks, the best concert venues, the most unique neighborhoods, and the best part is you don't have to drive a half hour to get to all of it. When I lived in the county my friends and I always going downtown to Washington, Midtown, Central West End, the hill, Forest Park...the only spot in the county we frequented was Westport, and that was still a 25 minute drive from where we were in the county!

I'm not saying the rest of the area has nothing to offer, but considering how small it is and how the north half is a mess, the city of St. Louis absolutely offers the most to the region. I think you should spend some more time in the city...you might agree

so what, in your humble opinion, does a "typical" STL house look like? Please share, this STL native is quite puzzled.
The house I just posted is in Compton Heights.
