Just a shame that the Ballpark Village isn't there. Did they at least cover up the hole beyond left-center?

I went to Fanfest on Friday and enjoyed my two hours their. I didn't get any autographs but I saw Orlando Cepeda and Ferguson Jenkins. I wanted to get an Orlando Cepeda autograph but his line was just so long I would have spent all my time waiting their. I was impressed with the organziation for putting together Fanfest as well as they did, I was expecting something much less big.
And yes I saw a photo of Nelly making that diving catch and he did hit a homer. He's a good rapper, and seems to be a decent ballplayer, too.
Although i'm not going to the Derby I am going to go downtonw tonight to be apart of the atmosphere. Maybe i''ll catch a home run ball from Pujols. And check this out, local boy Ryan Howard is hosting a fundraising party for his charity organization downtown tonight with Run DMC. And Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels is hosting a poker tournament tonight at the Flamingo Bowl and his guests include Adrian Gonzalez, Chase Utley, Ryan Braun, Jimmy Rollins and CC Sabathia.
Downtown will be alive tonight .

Says Washington Nationals left-hander Ron Villone, who pitched for the Cardinals last season, "Rain, shine, tornado, it didn't really matter. The fans were always there."
"I swear that (former Cardinals catcher) Mike Matheny could run for mayor and win easily," says former Giants starting pitcher Kirk Rueter, who lives in Hoyleton, Ill., about 45 minutes from St. Louis.

Albert didn't win the Home Run Derby.
But Nelly had a diving catch and a home run in the Celebrity Softball game so far.

And he dogged it in the first the first couple innings.. and airmailed a rainbow over home plate by about 20 feet. His lack of hustle would have put off most true Cards fans if he was just about anyone else. Seeing Vince Coleman again though.. that brings back memories and I'm glad he played well.
Even Nelly's "bomb" wasn't terribly impressive with 225-250' fences.. if that. It wouldn't have left most ASA/rec/D-league softball parks. Dave Winfield hit one about a decade ago that nearly landed on the warning track of the actual ballpark.. now THAT was a shot to be proud about.

AL win again, 4-3.
I still think it's idiotic that this game actually counts for something. The better team in the World Series should get home field advantage. Period.
