Lafayette Square is absolutely gorgeous--and I didn't even know it existed until my professor at SLU had us over!

CWE, Shaw, Tower Grove South, DeBaulivier, Lafayette Square -- all great. But I'm kind of surprised not one mention for Clayton?

Clatyon is technically a suburb, I'm guessing this is a thread about city neighborhoods.

Oh, and I keep seeing people post Central West End as a favorite. I've been to Central West End, in the Parc Frontenac area and I found it to be busy, dirty, and loud.

Maybe city living isn't for you? I find it far from dirty. The other 2 factors kind of come with living in a truly urban area.

It looks like Parc Frontenac is on Kingshighway, which is pretty crazy right there. When people talk about the CWE, they are generally talking about an area a few blocks off Kingshighway where it is much quieter but still packed with people and shops and great houses and restaurants galore.

Give the neighborhood another shot. Just judging the CWE from Kingshighway is like judging the airport from 170. Ok, not exactly like that, but you get the idea.
