Default therapist/psychologist for teen recommendation

Hi,
Can anybody recommend a therapist or psychologist in the St. Louis area for adolescents? I can obviously search online, but there are a ton of choices, and I'm really wanting somebody who has had experience with some of them to be able to give me some input. Thanks in advance.

Robin

I don't have any experience with this but if it is for a boy, I would get a female therapist. I think it would be too weird for a boy to talk about his feelings with another guy... kind of creepy, so I'd stick with a female.

Check out this guy, he has worked wonders with my son. He will do a free phone consultation that will let you know if he is a fit. I have known Russell for some time now and I highly recommend him.

I disagree, it can be a man or a woman but they do have to be comfortable together. Unfortunately I have lots of experience in this area.

Not sure if this particular doctor would fit the bill for you, but I recommend Dr. Tim Jordan for developmental and behavioral concerns. He practice is in Chesterfield. He is an "out of network" provider so you have to pay the full cost of an hour session ($150? $175?), but it's completely worth it. His website is: Children and Families, Inc. - Tim Jordan, MD & Anne Jordan, RN; developmental, behavioral, personal growth speakers and author - home of Camp Weloki

Thanks for the recommendations. This is for a teenage girl who has been seeing a therapist for the past two years where we previously lived. I just want to find somebody here who is a good fit for her.
